This book, while dealing with a very sensitive and heartbreaking time in our history, also tells of the kindness of human spirit and the hope for things to be better.  Have you seen either yet?  Describe and explain why you would/would not like to have lived in the time or place of the story.

  1. I would not like to live in this time period because of the way they get treated. They don't get treated like we do today they get treated a lot worse.

  2. As far as I have read I haven't seen either one of these. I wouldn't want to live in that time because I would find it depressing even for the people the die or try to survive.

  3. I haven't seen much of either of those in the book yet. I wouldn't want to live at that time because a lot of stuff happened. I wouldn't want to have to loose family or anything like that.

  4. Liesel gets adopted into a new family. She goes through heartache from being away from her mother and also having the memory of her brother dieing. Liesel's new papa shows sensitivity and love for her. Her new mom is more tough on her and doesn't show her the love and affection that she needs.

  6. I haven't seen either one, but I wouldn't want to live back then because there was a lot of people killed and it was scary. I wouldn't want to lose my family at all.

  7. I wouldn't want to live in the place of the story, nobody would want to live in the Holocaust. I wouldn't mind living in the time period though. Those were some of the best years in America's history. Things were simpler back then and I would like that. Hopefully this book has more hope in it as I start reading it.

  9. Yes and I would not want to live back then mostly because i don't think I would beable to stand being there at all. I mean with the way that I think about things, I wouldn't beable to stand it. Plus I wouldn't want to lose any of my family.

  10. Well there is no more mass murder as far as I know, so there's an improvement. But instead of focusing on race, our govenments now focus on things such as oil and money and many innocent people die in the the cross fire.
